For some time now I have been thinking about how to combine my passions and interests into a vehicle that would take me places, places in my career and places outside of the area I call home. It is with that in mind that this style blog has come about. I do not propose myself as the oracle of style but rather I want to share my journey of where I have come from stylistically, what I have learned, and what I enjoy. To me style is more than what we have on us at the moment it is who we are, how we live our lives, interact with others, and pursue our passions.
Seven months ago I moved into a great old building that had been a school and is now loft apartments. By doing that I also moved into a different part of town that is progressive, has a wonderful sense of community, and gave me a new sense of who I was and where my life was going. In that same month I was introduced to someone that has become a wonderful friend and style mentor that has helped me refine my sartorial style. April 2013 was truly a turning point for me and a new chapter. I want to share with you and take you on this journey as I pursue fashion, food, entertaining, and living with renewed vigor and a new eye.
I will do pieces on men's fashion, cooking, entertaining, travel, and home. There are "lifestyle" blogs but I want to focus more on the style aspect of lifestyle and how we define and refine our style. While the blog will certainly talk about my style and my style journey it would be boring to focus just on me, as well as slightly narcissistic. :) So I look forward to interviewing and featuring people, places, and things we can all learn from. I like to have a map when I begin a journey, but this isn't that type of trip. If you have any suggestions or things you would like to know about please share them with me.
Consider this a mission statement of sorts, a hello my name is..., and an away we go for this blog.
